Wind could not blow away the excitement of Walk Day on Saturday, November 12th.  Nearly 8,500 walkers (3,000 families) came together to join us for the 8th Annual Dallas/Fort Worth Walk Now for Autism Speaksat QuikTrip Park/AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas. This 8th Annual Walk has raised over $400,000 dollars and counting!

  1. My 10 year old daughter was there last weekend with the 501st Legion Star Wars costumed folks as “Princess Leia in disguise as Boushh the Bounty Hunter”. We participated in the Autism walk a few years ago in her name. At age 3 she was diagnosed as Autistic, which later transitioned into Sensory Integrated Dysfunction (still on the same spectrum, but she has now become verbal, communicative and has excellent motor skills… still some issues, but is doing great!).

Last weekend was her first “troop” ever with the Star Wars folks. To DFW Autism Speaks, thank you so much; this was such a huge deal for her to get to help put a smile on the faces of those children that she was once a part of.

A sweet lady wrote this article:
“Meet Jacquelyn AKA CBH-0298 Leia Boushh: The Coolest Star Wars Kid Ever”

  2. Thank you DFW Autism Speaks. We participated a few years ago, and this year she got to help entertain. Thank you for all you do.
