2010 Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Speaks

The 8th Annual Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Speaks was held this past Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.  We were lucky to have wonderful eighty degree weather without a cloud in the sky for the 8,000 walkers that came out to walk around the track while supporting Autism Speaks.  By the end of Walk day a total of over $350,000 total had been raised, and we are continuing to fundraise through the end of the year!

This year’s Walk brought out the Charlotte Checkmates from the local hockey team, NASCAR Racing Experience with their pit stop challenges, along with many vendors like Panera and Jersey Mike’s.

The committee was led by Walk co-chairs Hugh Love and Laura Milliken.  Thanks to the committment and dedication of these volunteers, the Carolinas community came together to not only raise monies and awareness for autism but provide a safe environment where our families could enjoy the day.  THANK YOU!
