Over 1500 individuals came out on a windy and chilly autumn day in Auburn Hills, MI to participate in the 4th annual Michigan Walk Now for Autism Speaks at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Sunday, October 3rd.  The Walk, co-chaired by Rich Ansell and Susan Woolner, raised over $166,000 with donations still arriving. Participants walked with Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys’R’Us and other mascots a little over 1 mile around the Palace.

Participants enjoyed family entertainment zone including face painting and inflatable jumpers and obstacle course and many other sensory activities. A BIG Thank you to the committee, the volunteers, and the Pistons’ Staff who made this year’s Walk memorable to all of those who came out and endured the weather. We are looking forward to celebrating with the Pistons on Autism Awareness Night at the Palace of Auburn Hills is Friday, April 1, 2011 at 7pm. That night we’ll “Light it up Blue” to kick off Autism Awareness month and World Autism Awareness Day which is April 2.
