2010 Fort Wayne Walk Now for Autism Speaks

On Saturday, September 11, 800 people joined Autism Speaks at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Fort Wayne, Indiana and raised over $40,000!  It was a cold and rainy morning, but that did not stop walkers from participating in the Walk day festivities.  Red, White & Blue was the theme for the day with American flags lining the Walk route and distributed to each walker.

Participants did not go hungry with donuts, apples and even hot pancakes from IHOP!  Children enjoyed bouncehouses, obstacle courses, slides, carnival games and Tumble X activities.  The event was hosted by Sandy Thomson, NewsChannel 15’s Chief Weather Specialist.  Sandy cheered walkers through the balloon arch along with Geoffrey from Toys”R”Us.

A huge thank you to event Chairpersons Tom & Mary Weisenberger and the entire Fort Wayne Walk Planning Committee for all of their efforts to make the Walk a tremendous success!
