2010 Southern New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks

On Saturday, May 22, 3500 walkers came together in honor of their loved ones, friends, classmates, and community members with autism for the Southern New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks in Mount Laurel, NJ.  Together, our community raised $300,000 and that total continues to climb daily!  We’re sure to hit our $315,000 goal before the year’s end!

Thanks to the Walk committee, led by Francine Hogan and Beth Burckley, every corner of the Walk site was filled with adventure and fun for all in attendance.  There were moon bounces, a dunk tank, face painters, team photo areas, mascots including Geoffrey from Toys “R” Us and the Storm Troopers, an amazing food section filled with donated treats, and an interactive entertainment led by Miss Amy and Budo Full Range Marshall Arts.  75 volunteers ensured that each of these areas ran smoothly, and SoJo 104.9 and CBS 3/The CW Philly 57 led us through our morning stage show with great enthusiasm!  They made sure to recognize top teams and members of the Grand Club for their leadership from the stage!

The Community Resource Fair featured over 30 local providers and many of our wonderful sponsors were on site, including Holman Automotive, CSA Group, Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us, CBS 3/The CW Philly 57, Bancroft NeuroHealth, Bayada Nurses, Kaizen Karate, Miss Amy, Wegmans, Clementon Park & Splash World, PHH Mortgage, and NFL Films.

We’re so grateful to all of our participants who worked so hard for months leading up to the Walk and to those who will continue to work through year’s end to raise much-needed awareness and funds in support of our mission.
