The 9th Annual Los Angeles Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on April 23rd, with nearly 25,000 people in attendance! To date we have raised more than $1.4 million, exceeding the goal, with donations continuing to come in!
Celebrity attendees included members of the cast from the NBC hit show ”Parenthood”, Max Burkholder, Cole Sand, Tom Amandes, Tyree Brown, Jason Ritter, Sarah Ramos, Miles Heizer, Savannah Paige Rae, Amanda Foreman, Phil Abrams, and Monica Potter. Joining them from the NBC daytime drama “Days of our Lives” were Camila Banus, Terrell Ransom, Jr. and Wally Kurth.
Autism Speaks National Board member Holly Robinson Peete was there with her husband, former NFL player Rodney Peete, and daughter Ryan. Lakers broadcaster John Ireland made a special trip from playoffs in New Orleans to be in attendance. The Laker Girls provided the pre-walk warm-up.
Honored guests, Los Angeles City Councilmen Jose Huizar and Dennis Zine, presented a proclamation on behalf of the City to commemorate Autism Awareness Month.

Awesome to see the stars of Parenthood out there. From what I can tell, Max’s portrayal of Asperger’s is pretty dead-on. Besides being an awesome show, his storyline has a lot of meaning for my wife and I. We have a 4 year old son who appears to be on the higher end of the spectrum, and I am convinced that both my wife and I also have Asperger’s. It would explain a lot about both of us!
