Looks like the weather will be cold and rainy for tomorrows walk. That’s ok. You get a warm feeling from knowing there are so many others in your same situation. So, bring on the cold. Bring on the rain. We won’t be stopped. We need to find a cure for autism!!!!

This spirit characterizes the strength and determination of the walkers of the Lehigh Valley. Despite the cold, the wind, and pending rain, thousands of walkers joined forces on Saturday, April 16 at the Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, PA for the 5th Annual Lehigh Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks. We have raised over $430,000 to date, and are well on our way to reaching our 2011 goal of $525,000.
Walk Chair Nancy Miltenberger welcomed the crowd. Nancy’s twin grandsons, James and Thomas Garrou, are both on the autism spectrum. In celebration of the Miltenberger family’s achievements in volunteerism, and James’ successful completion of leukemia treatment, the family cut the ribbon to officially start the 2011 Walk. Special thanks to national sponsors Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us, Platinum Sponsor NHS Human Services, Gold Sponsors Josh Early Candies, Air Products and Lehigh Valley Acura, Honda, Hyundai. Media sponsors Clear Channel Radio, 69News and RCN provided excellent publicity!
Many thanks to the tireless Walk Committee who put in hours of work to ensure the Walk’s success. Please visit our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AutismSpeaks.Lehigh, to post your team photos in our online community. THANK YOU LEHIGH VALLEY for an amazing 5th Annual Walk!
