On Sunday, May 23, over 1,100 people gathered for the 5th Annual Laurel Highlands Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Idlewild Park’s Story Book Forest in Ligonier, Penn. Mary Jo Sell and Jennifer Graham served as Walk co-chairs. Event sponsors included Nationwide Sales Solutions, FBR, AERI, and The Norman Alan Company. This year’s Walk raised over $58,000 to date and donations are still coming in.
As participants enjoyed the Walk through Story Book forest, they were entertained by local musicians and enjoyed refreshments provided by area businesses including hot dogs, ice cream, and other treats including an area with gluten-free, casein-free snacks. Area service providers hosted children’s activities at their tables and there was a sensory tent.
Thank you to the Laurel Highlands Planning Committee and all the Walk day volunteers, in-kind donors, and sponsors for making this year’s Walk such a success.
