The Las Vegas Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place on Saturday, November 21 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. More than 1,000 walkers joined the fourth annual event, which raised $101,000.
Television personality Sue Materis from the local NBC affiliate hosted the events of the day. Walkers enjoyed a sign language performance by Sign Design and a musical performance by Us Too Center, whose songs promote social awareness.
As the last Walk of the year, the Las Vegas Walk Now for Autism Speaks closed the year with a bang by bringing in over $18,000 on the day of the event. In 2009, Walk Now for Autism Speaks raised more than $23 million through the end of November, with over 320,000 participants in 80 Walks across North America.
Many thanks go to Walk Committee and volunteers for the continued success of the event. Read more about the Walk here and become a fan of the Las Vegas Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Facebook.
