Emcee Evan Farmer and special guest singer Katie Chance
Approximately 1,000 people walked on Saturday, October 17 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn. for the Tennessee Walk Now for Autism Speaks. The second annual event raised $116,000, despite the crisp and windy weather.
Walk emcee Evan Farmer kicked off the opening ceremonies and Katie Chance, a young girl who has autism, performed the national anthem. The 36 foot long, 13 foot high monster truck, CAOS, was the talk of the day. Walkers also enjoyed a resource fair with more than 30 providers, who shared valuable information with families in the community.
Many thanks go to Walk Chairs April Schmidt and Craig Jaramillo for making the Tennessee Walk such a success. Read more about the Walk here and become a fan of the Tennessee Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Facebook.
