On Saturday, October 17, 1,500 participants joined the second annual Central Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Modesto Junior College in Calif., raising over $130,000. Special thanks go to returning Walk Chair Michelle Rodriguez for making the Central Valley Walk such a success.
The Walk route throughout Modesto Junior College West Campus included the agriculture department – where walkers visited sheep, cows, pigs, and horses from the school. Kids met Toys“R”Us’ Geoffrey the Giraffe, the Modesto Nuts mascot Wally the Walnut and McGruff the Crime Dog. Autism Speaks supporter Marty Seagraves brought his autism awareness motorcycle and Walk Sponsor Carlos Vieira displayed his racecars. Walkers also enjoyed the musical talents of Radial.
