On Saturday, October 3, 2,000 walkers on more than 170 teams joined the eighth annual Seattle Walk Now for Autism Speaks at the Dempsey Indoor Arena at the University of Washington, raising $120,000. Walkers enjoyed appearances by Blitz and Blue Thunder from the Seattle Seahawks, Geoffrey from Toys”R”Us and the Eastlake Dance Team. At the Walk, Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess presented a proclamation from the City of Seattle recognizing autism awareness! Special thanks go to 30 Alpha Xi Deltas who volunteered on Walk day and Walk Chair Amy McOmber for the success of the event.
