On a stunning October day, 27,000 people joined the 10th annual Long Island Walk Now for Autism Speaks, at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, N.Y. As the world’s largest autism walk, it raised $1.1 million so far this year and more than $12 million since the inaugural event in 2000. More than one hundred teams joined this year’s Grand Club (each raising $1,000 or more) with the top team, Tyler W, already bringing in $61,000. Fifteen teams have participated in the Walk all 10 years. Many thanks go to Michael Giangregorio, Executive Walk Committee Chair, and Danny Ryan, Executive Walk Committee Vice Chair, for their planning and support of the Walk. Read more about the Walk here.
